This free, full-day, continuing education event will bring together national and regional health/behavioral health educators, students, researchers, and community practitioners to discuss the how’s and whys of moving toward a truly integrative health care system to promote recovery and resiliency in the person, family, and community. A special focus of the discourse will be on the social determinants of health and how to encircle the person/family with health challenges to find strength, empowerment, recovery, resiliency and sustainability in their communities. This integrative and recovery/resiliency approach must begin with the education of future health care professionals; with students “crossing boundaries” to take courses across disciplines.
