ABOUT ABOUT

These informational sessions will provide an overview of the Centers for Disease Control National Diabetes Prevention Program. Eighty-six million Americans now have prediabetes—that’s 1 out of 3 adults! Of those 86 million, 9 out of 10 of them don’t even know they have it. If you have prediabetes, getting type 2 diabetes doesn’t have to be a sure thing. In fact, prediabetes can often be reversed. Join a CDC-recognized diabetes prevention lifestyle change program to help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. The program can also lower your risk of having a heart attack or stroke, improve your health overall, and help you feel more energetic. The program is a year-long and you will learn about: Eat healthy without giving up all the foods you love, Add physical activity to your life, even if you don’t think you have time, Deal with stress, Cope with challenges that can derail your hard work—like how to choose healthy food when eating out, Get back on track if you stray from your plan—because everyone slips now and then.
