ABOUT ABOUT

Naikan is a reflective practice that has been adapted as a therapeutic exercise with a potential to transform one’s relationships. It involves attending to three basic questions regarding the other:
What have I received from them?

What have I given them?

And what difficulties have I caused for them?

The fact that the obvious fourth question—What have they done to me?—is missing is essential to the transformative power of this practice. This seminar will offer opportunity to learn and practice this exercise with a practitioner who has decades of experience with it. Whether you are interested in learning Naikan to offer to others or to transform your personal relationships, this is a rare opportunity.

Naikan was introduced to our western culture in the early 1980's by anthropologist David K. Reynolds, Ph.D, as a method for personal growth and the foundation for constructive living. The presenter studied Naikan with Dr. Reynolds in these early years.
