ABOUT ABOUT

Kristopher Benedict will present an overview of his work and experiences as a contemporary painter with a focus on themes of transformation, belief, community, and isolation. The talk will address how the artist’s use of his painting practice as a means of understanding the self and the world both runs counter to and reflects the complexities of modern life. He will also lead a brief drawing
workshop.

Kristopher Benedict's paintings have been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across the nation, including New York, Miami, Chicago, Minneapolis, Houston, and Philadelphia. His work is in the public collections of the RISD Museum, Flint Institute of Arts, and The Orlando Museum of Art. He holds a BFA from The Cooper Union, and an MFA from Columbia
University. He lives outside of Philadelphia and is an Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing at West Chester University.
