ABOUT ABOUT

Mindfulness in K-12 Education

Education is one of the fastest growing applications for mindfulness. Weighty scientific evidence showing improvements in attention, emotional self-regulation, and empathy is helping many educators eager to bring such benefits to students from K-12 and in higher ed—both in and outside of the classroom. So what are the ways that schools in our area are bringing the benefits of mindfulness or other contemplative practices to students?

We will hear from a panel of educators engaged in this work in school districts around Chester County. They will describe their current programs, preliminary results, and future plans.

Don McCown, Co-Director of the CCS, and Bethann Cinelli, Director of WCU’s Center for Healthy Schools, will introduce and moderate the panel, which will include faculty and administrators from school districts around Chester County.
