Mental Health First Aid is a public education program designed to teach everyday citizens the skills to help another person who is struggling with a mental health concern or crisis. This evidence based program provides a comprehensive overview of the most common mental health issues and a step by step action plan.
The VIRTUAL format includes two hours of self paced, online instruction to be completed prior to the ZOOM session on December 9, which is mandatory. Registrants who are unable to complete it, will be required to find an alternative zoom session to attend. Once you have registered and set up an account, you will be enrolled and gain access to the self paced portion. Participants must attend the full instructor led class to be certified.
Each participant receives access to the Mental Health First Aid online manual, and certification by the National Council for Behavioral Health as a "Mental Health First Aider." Certification is valid for a period of 3 years, and then renewable online.
